About this policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Kawntr Ltd, a company registered in New Zealand that operates scoreblox (“scoreblox”, “we”, “us”), collects, uses, shares and protects personal information when you use:
- the scoreblox cricket app (iOS, Android and macOS) — live scores, stats, fantasy and predictions;
- the scoreblox cricket scorer app (iOS and Android) — ball-by-ball scoring;
- the scoreblox Console at console.scoreblox.com — league, team, match and organisation management; and
- our website at scoreblox.com
Together these are the “Services”. Kawntr Ltd is responsible for the personal information described in this policy. If you have questions, contact us at hello@scoreblox.com.
Information we collect
Information you give us
- Account details. When you sign in with Google, Apple or another sign-in method we offer, we receive your name, email address, profile photo (if your provider shares one) and an account identifier. If you use Sign in with Apple and choose to hide your email, we receive a relay address instead.
- Profile and preferences. Favourite teams, players and leagues, notification settings, language and theme.
- Fantasy and predictions. Teams you pick, answers you submit, points, rankings, and prize or gift-code redemptions.
- Content you add as an organiser or scorer. Leagues, teams, venues, matches, ball-by-ball scores, player names, photos and logos, match notes, and the members you invite to your organisation. If you add other people’s details (for example a player’s name and photo), you are responsible for having their permission to do so.
- Billing details. Paid Console plans and live-streaming credits are processed by Stripe; scoreblox ad-free subscriptions are processed by Apple or Google. We receive the plan, amount, status and the last digits/brand of the card, but never your full card number.
- Messages to us. Anything you send through our contact form or by email.
Information collected automatically
- Device and usage information. App version, device model, operating system, language, screens viewed, features used and in-app events, collected through Google Firebase Analytics in the apps and Google Analytics in the Console.
- Crash and diagnostic data. Crash logs and performance data, collected through Firebase Crashlytics, so we can find and fix bugs.
- Push notification tokens. If you allow notifications or Live Activities, we store a device token so we can send match alerts (for example wickets, milestones and results) for the matches and teams you follow.
- Approximate location. We derive your country or region from your IP address to show relevant matches and to enable features that are only available in some regions. We do not collect precise GPS location.
- Advertising identifiers. The free scoreblox cricket app shows ads through Google AdMob, which may use your device’s advertising identifier (IDFA on iOS, Advertising ID on Android) to serve and measure ads. You can limit or reset this in your device settings, and on iOS you will be asked before any app tracking takes place.
- Server logs and cookies. Our servers record IP address, browser type, pages requested and timestamps for security and troubleshooting. The website and Console use essential cookies and local storage to keep you signed in and remember preferences such as theme. The Console also uses Google Analytics cookies to measure how it is used; you can accept or decline them in the cookie banner, and in the EU, EEA, UK and Switzerland they are only set if you accept. We do not use advertising cookies on the website or Console.
How we use your information
- To provide the Services: sign you in, show live scores and stats, run scoring, fantasy and predictions, and manage leagues and organisations.
- To send notifications you have asked for, and service emails such as invitations, prediction results and billing receipts.
- To process payments, subscriptions and prizes.
- To keep the Services secure, prevent fraud and abuse, and enforce our Terms and Conditions.
- To understand how the Services are used, fix problems and improve features.
- To show ads in the free scoreblox cricket app.
- To comply with legal obligations.
We do not sell your personal information.
What is public
Scoreblox is a live sports platform, so match data is public by design. Scores, scorecards, ball-by-ball commentary, team and player names, player photos and statistics that organisers publish can be seen by anyone using the Services. Fantasy and prediction leaderboards show your display name and points to other participants.
Who we share information with
We share personal information only as needed to run the Services, with:
- Service providers who process data on our behalf: Google Firebase and Google Analytics (authentication, real-time data, analytics, crash reporting, push notifications), Apple Push Notification service, cloud hosting and content delivery providers (including DigitalOcean, Amazon Web Services and Cloudflare), Stripe (payments) and our email delivery provider.
- Advertising partners — Google AdMob in the free scoreblox cricket app. See how Google uses information from apps that use its services.
- App stores — Apple and Google, for purchases and subscriptions made through them.
- Your organisation — if you are a member of a league or club organisation, its administrators can see your name, email and role within that organisation.
- Authorities when required by law, or to protect the rights, safety and property of our users or others.
- A buyer or successor if scoreblox is involved in a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, subject to this policy.
Some of these providers are located outside your country, including in the United States and India. Where we transfer data internationally we rely on our providers’ contractual and security safeguards.
How long we keep information
We keep account information while your account is active. When you delete your account we delete or anonymise your personal information within 30 days, except where we must keep it longer for legal, tax or fraud-prevention reasons (for example billing records). Match records that organisers have published, such as scorecards, may be kept as part of the competition’s history, but are no longer linked to your account.
Deleting your account
You can delete your account at any time:
- in the scoreblox cricket or scoreblox cricket scorer app, under Profile / Settings → Delete account; or
- by emailing hello@scoreblox.com from the address on your account, with the subject “Delete my account”.
Cancelling an App Store or Google Play subscription is done in your store account settings; deleting your scoreblox account does not cancel it automatically.
Your choices and rights
- Notifications: turn match alerts and Live Activities on or off in the app or in your device settings.
- Ads: subscribe to ad-free, or limit ad tracking in your device settings.
- Analytics cookies: accept or decline them in the Console’s cookie banner. To change your choice later, clear the Console’s site data in your browser and choose again.
- Access, correction and deletion: you can view and edit your profile in the apps, and ask us for a copy of your personal information or to correct or delete it.
Depending on where you live (for example under the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020, the EU/UK GDPR or California law), you may also have the right to object to or restrict processing, to data portability, to withdraw consent, and to complain to your local data-protection authority. To exercise any right, email hello@scoreblox.com. We will respond within 30 days and will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS), access to production systems is restricted, and sign-in tokens are stored using the secure storage on your device. No system is completely secure, but we work to protect your information and will notify you and the relevant authorities of a data breach where the law requires.
Children
The Services are not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country), and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. Fantasy and prediction prizes are only available to users who meet the age requirements in our Terms and Conditions. If a club adds a junior player’s name or photo to a team, it does so under its own responsibility to obtain consent from a parent or guardian. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the Services change. We will post the new version here with a new “Last updated” date and, for significant changes, notify you in the apps or by email.
